The Program

The Southern Highlands Suicide Prevention Program was established in the Wingecarribee Shire with the aim of assisting people in distress to find appropriate help.

We aim to increase the community's awareness and skills in responding to the issue of suicide through our main activities.

- Distribution of the yellow CRY FOR HELP cards.

- Facilitation of Community Education Seminars and Workshops.

- Promotion of health and support in the general community and in our schools.

The Yellow Cards

The yellow cards represent a cry for help, and suggest that in a time of need, the holder pass the card to a trusted friend, teacher, minister or relative.

Yellow cards have been distributed to paces such as doctors' surgeries, chemist shops, police stations and schools. The Southern Highlands Suicide Prevention Program is happy to supply the cards to any individuals or organisations.
